  Mission Statement

To create fellowship among our fellow people and to help the less fortunate.

The Coral Springs Downtown Lions Club was chartered on Dec. 5th. 1980. The club is part of a non-profit organization founded in Chicago in June 1917 - called Lions Club International. Today there are approximately 1.5 million members in 45,000 clubs in 186 countries and geographic areas.

The Coral Springs Downtown Lions Club conducts various fund raisers every year and donate every dollar raised, without any operating costs, to many local, state, and international charities & service activities.
Some of our activities included placing yellow caution tape at all the downtown street crossings, building a wheelchair exercise course with 8 exercise stations at Sherwood Forest Park. We also made several plane trips to Haiti carrying food & medical supplies. We provide eye exams, eye glasses, and eye surgery, as well as hearing aids to needy individuals. We sponsor a handicapped bowling league as well as a Challenger Baseball Team.
Our mascot "Leo the Lion" visits Coral Springs Medical Center to bring a smile to the children, as well as toys, games, and books, and is always at our fund raisers to play with the children.
Two of our major fund raisers were a golf tournament for the blind as well as our yearly Arts, Craft, & Collectable Show.
